Dr Maria Leonidou holds a Doctor of Medicine Degree from the School of Health Sciences at the University of Patra, Greece. Upon her return to Cyprus she worked for a year as a preregistration doctor at the Nicosia General Hospital and she became a member of the registered Doctors in Cyprus. She worked as a doctor, M.D., in the Public Hospitals of Nicosia for five years. She attended Homeopathic Medicine for two years at the International Academy of Homeopathic Medicine, Greece. She also became an instructor and examiner at the St John’s Ambulance Association. Between 2002 and 2007, she was lecturing at Frederick Institute of Technology. She then worked as a visiting lecturer at Cyprus College and Kes College. Since 2008 she is an appointed lecturer at the Department of Health Sciences of the European University of Cyprus. From 2009 she is working towards her Doctorate Degree at Middlesex University, U.K. Now she is a DProf Candidate and she continues her research in parallel with lecturing. Her research interest is the Home Care Health system in Cyprus.
