Profile

Dr Hileti is an Associate Professor of Nutrition and Co-coordinator of the BSc Dietetics programme at European University. She teaches undergraduate Dietetics students and helps to co-ordinate this newly-founded degree course. In parallel, she also maintains her clinical practice in Paediatric Dietetics, alongside Paediatricians, Paediatric Speech Therapists and Clinical Psychologists, advising patients on appropriate therapeutic diets. She has prior experience at Frederick University teaching Nutrition to undergraduate Nursing students. Between 2002-2007, Dr Hileti worked part-time as a HACCP and ISO auditor for the Cyprus Certification company, undertaking audits in food companies and catering establishments. She was also a member of the Board of Directors for both the Cyprus Dietetic Association and the Cyprus Food Scientists and Technologists Association. Prior to her work in Cyprus, Dr Hileti worked in the UK. Between 1996-2002, she worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London as a Senior Paediatric Dietician and at the Institute of Child Health (Wolfson centre), undertaking clinical research projects investigating the impact of gastrostomy on the nutritional, psychosocial and medical status of children with Cerebral Palsy. During this time, she also took part in clinical audits on the lipid abnormalities of children with HIV.
