Title: Skills for the Contemporary Performer

The aim of this course is to introduce students to strategies and techniques aimed at enhancing musical performance and the transition to a professional career, as well as assist them in planning their practice and developing their ability to self-assess their levels of musical skills and expertise. Additionally this course intends to teach specific exercises based on Alexander’s technique and yoga which will help them take a closer look at the musician’s body and the impact physical injuries can have, whilst taking a close look at organizing, networking and career management skills.
