EUC hosts 20th Session of Cyprus Rectors – New upgraded role achieved
The Rectors of Cyprus Universities held their 20th session on 22/01/2016, at European University Cyprus in the presence of the Minister of Education and Culture Dr Kostas Kadis. The Session proceeded to adopt significant decisions with the aim of upgrading its role and enhance its voice as the advisory body to the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The president of the Session, Rector of European University Cyprus, Professor Kostas Gouliamos, responding to the Minister’s presentation of the government’s policies to upgrade the Cypriot education system said that the universities will continue to support the Ministry’s efforts. He said that «with common goals we can collectively create a future by investing in knowledge as a growth model but also in the strengths and potential of the university community». Professor Gouliamos added that there is a solid foundation of quality and excellence which can be strengthened to turn Cyprus into an education destination devoted to developing a significant higher educational hub in Europe.
