On the 17 and 18 of February 2017 the Cyprus Central Bank organized a seminar for law students and law graduates on the area of Banking and Financial Law. Teams of almost all Cypriot Law Schools took part in the seminar. Among the teams, there were two teams of our University law students, who presented papers on the topics of “The Bank’s liability as a payment services provider with respect to unauthorized payment transactions” (presented by law students : Andriana Saliari, Constantina Stavrogianni and Maria Voukelatou) and “Unfair contract terms in banking contracts : Shortcomings and progress in the Cypriot legal reality” (presented by law students : Asimina Balli, Georgia – Elsi Kerouli, Alexandros Ntallas and Nikos Zeniou).  Both teams were supervised by Dr. Christiana Markou and Dr. Evripidis Rizos (Lecturers, Law School) and Ms. Venetia Argyropoulou (Special Teaching Personnel, Law School). The team that presented the first paper (on the unauthorized payment transactions) was awarded the first prize (the paper shall be published on the CCB’s website). The other team (that presented the paper on the unfair contract terms) received also merits, as its paper was classified among the three best papers of the seminar.
