EUC Research Day 2016

The European University Research Office successfully organized on February 2nd its annual Research Day. This event provided the opportunity to the members of our research community to be informed on important developments and discuss challenges and opportunities for increasing our research output both in quality and quantity.

During the event, our faculty members were informed about the current and upcoming European and national research funding programmes, as well as, about the changes of our internal research strategy.

Namely, Pierantonios Papazoglou, National Contact Point and Programme Committee Member for HORIZON 2020 "Marie Skłodowska Curie" Actions from the Research Promotion Foundation presented the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions: Overview of IF-2016 and ITN-2017 Calls, and provided proposal writing hints&tips; Marinos Portokallides, Scientific Officer at the Research Promotion Foundation, presented “RESTART 2016 – 2020”, the upcoming National Research Programme Calls for Proposals.

Additionally, Dr. Celia Hadjichristodoulou, Founder and General Manager of GrantXpert Consulting presented the opportunities provided for collaborations with External Consultants through the Task Force of European Office of Cyprus.

Lastly, Professor Andreas Efstathiou, Vice Rector for Research and External Affairs, presented various EUC research related developments including EUC’s new Research Policy and the results for the recent EUC PhD Scholarship Awards.

The European University Research Day 2016 is an important initiative, part of the overall ongoing effort to stimulate and grow the already dynamic and promising research community of our university.
