European University Cyprus tops Pancyprian Robotic Olympiad
The 3rd Pancyprian Educational Robotic Olympiad (WRO Cyprus) wasconcluded at the European University Cyprus over the weekend of 17-18 October with participating teams from primary schools, gymnasiums, lyceums as well as independent teams.
For the first time in the Pancyprian Olympiad a University Challenge was also launched open to teams from universities and colleges in Cyprus.
The European University Cyprus team secured the first prize in this competition under the guidance of Pericles Cheng, Instructor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the School of Sciences for its entry entitled Asimov, a bowling simulation robot.
The European University Cyprus’ winning team will participate in the World Educational Robotics Olympiad which is scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar on 6-7 November this year.
