Launch of parent educational seminars of the ESIPP Project

Equity and Social Inclusion through Positive Parenting in Cyprus

Equity and Social Inclusion through Positive Parenting (ESIPP) is a three-year project co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program which began on September 1st, 2015. It aims to design and offer educational seminars to parents with children on the autism spectrum in Croatia, Cyprus and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The partner network is led by the University of Northampton (UK) and involves eight (8) other partners from Belgium (Autism Europe), Croatia (University of Zagreb-Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, and Centar za Autizam), Cyprus (European University Cyprus, and the Autism Assessment Support Practice Centre), the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (Macedonian Scientific Society for Autism – MSSA), and the United Kingdom (Target Autism Training and Consultancy, and Autism Concern).

On March 19th 2016 the first of a series of seminars addressed to families with children on the autism spectrum in Cyprus was organized and delivered in Limassol by the Autism Assessment Support Practice Centre, one of the eight funded partners of the consortium. The seminar was a full house event and attracted significant support from families living with autism as well as professionals working with children with autism and their families. The seminar included practical guidelines, activities, material for the enhancement and development of knowledge and skills necessary for the support of families and their children on the autism spectrum.
