The International Motion Festival, organized by the European University of Cyprus has been awarded the EFFE Label 2017-2018

The International Motion Festival organized by the European University, Cyprus, was awarded the EFFE Label of the program EFFE - Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe 2017-2018 (http://www.effe.eu ), for the second time, continuing thus to worthily hold a place among the best festivals in Europe.

EFFE is a cultural portal that connects Cultural Networks and Festivals across Europe and provides relevant information to a pan-European audience. It also rewards innovative artistic festivals and officially grants recognition certificates, aiming to support and promote the cultural diversity of Europe's cultural activities.

An EFFE label is not only a seal of recognition of the high quality of a festival and its wider contribution. With an EFFE Label, a Festival is included in a widely distributed EFFE Festival Guide that contains all the latest news and information, granting pan-European visibility and new networking opportunities.

The decision is the result of a thorough evaluation process by the Festival Hub Experts based on: artistic commitment and innovation, engagement with the local communities as well as a European and international perspective. The International Motion Festival was particularly awarded on the basis of:

a.       “its strong educational dimension” and

b.      “its attempt to establish at the international level a pedagogical dialogue among artists”.

The EFFE Label 2017-2018 award ceremony for the Cypriot festivals was held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Pattichion Municipal Theater of Limassol. The ceremony was attended by Peter Friedens, a member of the EFFE International Committee, director of Hay Festivals in the United Kingdom. The award for the International Motion Festival Cyprus was received by the artistic director of the festival Ms. Dimitra Englezou.
