Title: Work Study in Graphic Design

The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the practical aspects of the graphic design and advertising operation. Students will have the opportunity to establish contacts in the industry as well as familiarize themselves with the philosophy, mission, organizational culture and management style and expectations of the organization they are employed by. They will also gain competence in performing actual graphic design and advertising tasks. Students could be employed in any of the following fields: Advertising Agencies; Production Houses; Media Companies (print and electronic); IT companies, Printers or, Internet Providers. In preparation for job interviews, the student’s print and digital portfolio is reviewed and re-evaluated. At the completion of the course, the intern should submit a report, which will show how well he/she has integrated classroom knowledge to the practical working environment. It is important for the intern to keep a daily/weekly journal of his/her work experience as well as collect copies of brochures, advertisements, contracts and other documents of relevance, since the latter will comprise a substantial part of the report.
