Title: Typography I

This studio based course uses mainly hands on methods to address the language of type and its effective use. By studying type through history, and application, students will gain strong working knowledge of this essential element to graphic design. Students will be introduced to type development, terminology, type specification, type anatomy, and also design and presentation skills. Through assignments that address the functional and experimental aspects of lettering, students will also explore form and meaning in typographic design.
