“Cultural Month” dedicated to Manos Hatzidakis

European University Cyprus, cultivating upon the principle that the university is a space of both knowledge and culture, has established an annual "cultural month".

Following a decision of the Senate, the "Cultural Month 2015" this summer is dedicated to the work and personality of Manos Hatzidakis.

On the occasion of the 90 years since the birth of Manos Hatzidakis (23.10.1925, Xanthi),  European University Cyprus aims to honour the great composer who – through the sensitivity and beauty emanating from his music – set his mark not only on the contemporary culture of Greece, but on that of the entire world.

A pioneer in his art, Manos Hatzidakis marked with his life and work the musical events of an era, surpassing the borders of Greece.

This "cultural month" includes various scheduled events, such as concerts, films featuring his music, a number of interactive and other events, as well as a workshop addressed by important artists, scholars and intellectuals who had worked closely with Manos Hatzidakis.

The "cultural month" of European University Cyprus is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
