KEPSYPA

Center of Applied Psychology and Personal Development (KEPSYPA)

Committed to catering to the personal well-being of the EUC community, KEPSYPA was established to provide psychological services (Prevention-Assessment-Therapy) to students and staff of European University Cyprus. The center operates under the supervision of the Psychology Department of the School of Humanities, Social and Education Sciences.

The center offers professional psychological services to all students and staff, free of charge. Only KEPSYPA staff are involved in this process and anything discussed in the center is treated with the strictest confidence.

KEPSYPA offers short-term and long-term one-on-one counselling and psychotherapy. In addition, group therapy is offered, as well as seminars on self-development. Students and staff are encouraged, freely and without any prejudice, to contact KEPSYPA.

The most common reasons somebody might contact KEPSYPA are the following:

 

  • Lack of motivation to attend lectures
  • Learning difficulties
  • Low academic performance
  • Changes in mood and behaviour
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Depression
  • Interpersonal or social problems
  • Low self-esteem or self-confidence

Referral procedure to KEPSYPA

Therapists: Psychologists – Specializing in Clinical and Counselling Psychology.

The center is closed during Christmas and Easter holidays (two weeks each), and during the month of August.
KEPSYPA. is located 250m South of EUC, on 11 Archangelou street.​

Self-Improvement Group

Who can participate in the “Self-Improvement group”?

All registered students of European University Cyprus, who are interested in getting a better understanding and learning techniques for self- improvement.

How does the group work?

The aim of the group is both psychoeducation and the development of skills in areas of self-care, self-esteem, and self-compassion.

Start and duration

The first session begins on Tuesday 27/02 at 11.30am (In Greek) and on Wednesday 28/02 at 2pm (In English). Eight sessions will be conducted on a weekly basis. The duration of each session is 90 minutes. The groups will be held in Greek and English language. The day and the time of the groups will remain the same throughout the process.

In Greek Language: Tuesday 11.30am-1pm

In English Language: Wednesday 2pm-3.30pm

Participation Cost:

All services offered from KEPSYPA are free of charge to EUC students.

How can I participate in the group?

You can either call us at 22559509 or send us an email at [email protected] and show your interest. Then, you will be invited in an one to one meeting in order to discuss the context of the group and a final decision will be made about your participation.

Additional Information:

  • All participants are expected to maintain confidentiality
  • The group will be closed. Hereby, no new members will be added after the beginning of the group.
  • Participants are expected to be present in all sessions. In case, they miss up to 2 sessions we will consider that they no longer wish to participate in the group.
Anxiety Management Group

Who can participate in the “anxiety management group”?

All registered students of European University Cyprus, who are interested in gaining a better understanding about anxiety provoking situations, life stressors and ways to cope with them.

How does the group work?

The aim of the group is both psychoeducation and the development of coping skills for anxiety.

Start and duration

The first session begins on Monday 26/2 at 11.30am (In English) and on Thursday 29/2 at 11.30am  (In Greek). Eight sessions will be conducted on a weekly basis. The duration of each session is 90 minutes. The groups will be held in Greek and English language. The day and the time of the groups will remain the same throughout the process.

In Greek Language: Thursday 11.30am-1pm

In English Language: Monday 11.30am-1pm
